African Teak (Iroko)
African Teak is a good-looking timber that holds its own against the more expensive Burmese Teak. It is harder, with a pale yellow heartwood that mellows over time and interesting grain. A great choice if you like the warm golden tones of conventional teak but prefer a slightly matte luster.

American Red Oak

Balau (External Deck)
Balau heartwood is one of the most durable timbers tested by the Malaysian Timber Council. Under extreme sunny and wet conditions, this fine and evenly textured wood can last up to 15.8 years. It is a popular decking choice and typically stained according to preference. That said, some find its natural yellow or grey-brown colour, which gradually weathers to dark brown, attractive as well.
